Oil Pressure Indicator
- Turn ignition on. If indicator light fails to come on, ground oil pressure switch wire. If light fails to come on with lead grounded, check for burned out bulb and/or circuit for opens.
- If light stays on with engine running and good oil pressure, disconnect oil pressure switch wire. If light goes out, replace oil pressure switch. If light stays on, check for short circuit in wiring from oil pressure switch to indicator bulb.
NOTE:
On some models, one indicator light serves both oil pressure switch and temperature switch. This combined system can be identified by ENGINE warning light. Disconnect temperature switch wire before testing oil pressure switch circuit.
