Removal & Installation (Sable & Taurus)

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove ignition lock cylinder assembly. Remove steering column shrouds. Remove screws retaining lower left and radio finish panels. Remove panels (panels snap out).
On Taurus models, remove clock or clock cover to gain access to finish panel screw behind clock.
On all models, remove 7 cluster finish panel retaining screws and headlight switch jam nut. Remove finish panel by rocking upper edge toward steering wheel.
On column shift models, disconnect transmission selector cable from steering column. On all models, disconnect speedometer cable at transaxle. Remove screws retaining cluster to instrument panel.
Pull cluster assembly away from instrument panel. Disconnect speedometer cable and cluster wiring. Remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure.
