Cluster Too Dim

  1. If part of cluster is dim and part of cluster is illuminated properly, replace cluster and affix odometer sticker to door pillar. If all displays are too dim, go to step 2).
  2. If cluster will dim from 65% to almost off with headlights on, turn headlights off.
  3. If headlights are off, disconnect battery ground cable. Remove cluster and disconnect connectors "A" and "B". Connect battery ground and turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure headlights are off. Measure dimmer voltage to ground (pin No. 19 of cluster connector "A"). If voltage is less than 3 volts, replace cluster and affix odometer sticker to door pillar. If voltage is greater than 3 volts, repair circuit No. 19 and/or dimmer for short to battery voltage or run circuits.
