Hesitates or Stalls On Acceleration

Definition: Momentary lack of response as the accelerator is pushed down. Can occur at any vehicle speed. Usually most severe when first trying to make the vehicle move, as from a stop sign. May cause the vehicle to stall if severe enough.

POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Poor or contaminated fuel Check for excessive alcohol content
Recommend higher grade fuel

Fuel Injected Check air/fuel ratio, (O2 Sensor Voltage)
Perform INJECTOR BALANCE TEST (EFI)
Perform injector service (cleaning)
Proceed to Maintenance Procedures
Check fuel pressure, proceed to FUEL PRESSURE TEST.
Check vacuum line and return hose
