Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then drain crankcase.
3. Remove starter motor.
4. Remove front and rear transaxle to engine braces, then disconnect low oil level sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove exhaust inlet pipe from manifolds and position aside.
6. Drain cooling system, then remove water pump as outlined in WATER PUMP.
7. Remove water pump bracket and idler pulley.
8. Remove attaching bolts from front of righthand crossmember.
9. Loosen but do not remove attaching bolts from rear of righthand crossmember. Allow crossmember to drop as low as possible to permit removal of oil pan.
10. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
