Removal (Turbo)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and oxygen sensor connector. Drain cooling system. Disconnect hoses from air inlet and turbo compressor housing.
  2. Remove exhaust manifold heat shields. Disconnect oil feed/return lines and coolant lines from turbo. Remove EGR tube from exhaust manifold. Disconnect electrical connectors and air tube from turbo boost control solenoid valve. See Fig 1.

  3. Remove mounting bracket from lower side of the turbo. Discharge A/C system (if equipped) and remove line from A/C compressor. Remove oxygen sensor. Remove catalytic converter pipe from turbo joint pipe.
  4. Remove exhaust pipe from joint pipe attached to turbo housing. Remove exhaust manifold bolts, exhaust manifold with turbo and gaskets. Remove turbo from exhaust manifold.
