Exhaust Manifold: Installation

Ensure all gasket surfaces are clean. Install gasket with raised area against exhaust manifold. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.



  1. To install, reverse removal procedure using new gaskets. Install gasket with raised area against exhaust manifold. Ensure special nuts are installed to retain turbo on exhaust manifold.
  2. Pour .85 ozs. (.02 L) of engine oil in turbo oil feed passage prior to oil feed line installation.
  3. Once all components are installed and cooling system is filled, disconnect coil wire at ignition coil. Crank engine for approximately 20 seconds. Reconnect coil wire.
  4. Start engine and idle for 30 seconds. Stop engine and disconnect negative battery cable. Press brake pedal for at least 5 seconds to cancel trouble code. Reconnect negative battery cable. Recharge A/C system (if equipped).
