Cylinder Head: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure cylinder head bolt threads and cylinder block are clean. Ensure proper cylinder head gasket is used. Different head gaskets are used for non-turbo and turbo models.
  2. Apply light coat of oil to head bolts threads and seating surface prior to installation. Tighten cylinder head bolts to specification in 2 steps, using proper sequence. See Fig 1. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure all timing marks are aligned. See Figure.
