Cylinder Block Assembly

  1. Using feeler gauge and straightedge, inspect deck surface for warpage. See CYLINDER BLOCK SPECIFICATIONS  table in ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables for specification. Replace cylinder block if more than .008" (.20 mm) material is removed from deck surface.
  2. Check cylinder bore for wear, taper, out-of-round and piston fit. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of article. Use a 180 to 220 grit stone hone for honing cylinder bores.
