Removal (Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Mark Vii, Mustang, Sable, Taurus & Town Car)

Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove right and left lower moldings from dash panel by unsnapping from retainer.
Remove lower trim panel from dash panel. Remove lower shroud. See Figure and Figure. Disconnect clockspring electrical connector from column harness.
If contact assembly is to be re-used, tape clockspring stator and rotor to prevent internal damage to clockspring. See Figure. Remove contact assembly.
