Installation (Cougar & Thunderbird Tilt Wheel)
- DO NOT press on inner race of bearing when installing into tilt casting.
- Install tilt spring between tilt casting and lock cylinder housing. Move tilt casting to uppermost position. Align holes in tilt casting and lock cylinder housing. Using "C" clamp, press pivot pins into holes until even with surface of tilt casting.
- Install new upper bearing retaining ring. Install upper bearing retaining plate and conical spring. Ensure conical spring snaps into groove on steering shaft.
- Install upper and lower shrouds. Install column end shroud. Install steering wheel.
