Disc Brakes - Rear

With the exception of the parking brake, rear caliper assembly is similar to the pin slider front brake caliper. The parking brake lever, on back of caliper, is cable operated. Parking brake is self-adjusting.

NOTE: Brake Piston Remover (T75P-2588-A or B) is required for servicing rear disc calipers.

Caliper assembly consists of a pin slider caliper housing with a single piston, inner and outer disc pads, anti-rattle clip and anchor plate. Caliper slides on 2 greased locating pins that act as attaching bolts between caliper and anchor plate. Rubber insulators isolate pins from direct contact with caliper.

NOTE: On Mark VII models, it is possible to over-adjust rear brakes. A partial brake system failure, with only rear brakes operational, can be encountered. Check and adjust piston position and perform caliper adjustment.
