Front Wheel Bearings - Cougar & THUNDERBIRD

NOTE: Front wheel bearings are part of hub unit and require no maintenance or adjustment. If replacement is necessary, the hub/bearing assembly must be replaced as complete unit.
  1. Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove 2 Torx bolts from brake caliper. Remove caliper and suspend by wire. DO NOT let caliper hang by brake hose. Remove rotor. Remove hub nut and hub, use pulley if necessary.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install new front axle wheel hub nut and tighten to 250 ft. lbs. (340 N.m).
