Rear Output Shaft Oil Seal R & I: Removal

  1. Raise vehicle on hoist. Remove rear drive shaft from transfer case output shaft yoke. Wire drive shaft out of the way.
  2. Remove output shaft yoke by removing retaining nut, steel washer, and rubber seal from rear of output shaft. Remove oil seal from rear output housing bore with slide hammer.
