NIPPONDENSO & Ford FS-6, 6-CYL Shaft Seal R & I: Installation

  1. Install 2 dowel pins. Lubricate inlet reed valve with refrigerant oil. Install front valve plate assembly and inlet reed valve over dowel pins. Install a new cylinder gasket.
  2. Carefully remove seal assembly from packaging. DO NOT touch sealing surfaces. Lubricate seal assembly with new refrigerant oil. Using Shaft Seal Seat Installer (T81P-19623-C), install seal seat in front head. Install seal assembly on compressor crankshaft.
  3. Install a new "O" ring in groove of front head. Install front head so it is aligned with dowel pins. Install compressor through bolts and tighten to 18-19 ft. lbs. (24-26 N.m) in a diagonal pattern. Fill compressor with amount of oil drained from compressor. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
