Installation (1-Piece Shaft - Rear)

  1. Clean yoke and inspect machined surface for scratches, nicks or burrs. Check for arrows on slip joint and drive shaft to aid in alignment. Lubricate yoke spline and install into transmission output shaft.
  2. Connect drive shaft to rear companion flange. On all except E350 models, install "U" bolts and tighten to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m). On E350 models, connect drive shaft flange to rear axle flange and tighten bolts to 70-95 ft. lbs. (95-129 N.m).
