Rotor (4WD W/Auto Locking Hubs): Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle with safety stands. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove caliper and support out of the way. Remove locking hub assembly. See appropoate LOCKING HUBS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
  2. Use magnet to remove locking key from spindle keyway. It may be necessary to rotate adjusting nut slightly to relieve pressure for locking key removal.
    CAUTION: Failure to remove locking key from spindle keyway will result in thread damage to spindle. Ensure keyway is clear before removing adjusting nut.
  3. Remove wheel bearing locking nut and outer wheel bearing. Carefully remove hub and rotor assembly. Remove inner bearing and seal.
