Calibration Test (Without Tester)
- Test the oil pressure gauge with a 10-ohm resistor for high calibration and a 73-ohm resistor for low.
- Turn ignition on and connect a 10-ohm resistor between gauge lead and ground. The pointer should read at midrange on scale. Connect the 73-ohm resistor in place of the 10-ohm resistor. Gauge should now read around the "L" mark.
- If the gauge checks out of calibration, replace gauge and retest. If check within calibration, replace oil pressure sender. See appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
