Valves & Valve Guides

  1. Mark all components prior to removal for installation reference. Check valve-to-guide clearance of each valve in its respective valve guide.See Fig 1.
  2. If valve-to-guide clearance is not within specifications, replace valve(s) with next available oversize valve. Ream valve guide until clearance with valve stem is within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables at end of article.
