Hydraulic Lifter Clearance
- Place No. 1 piston on TDC of compression stroke. Install Lifter Collapser (T81P-6500-A) on No. 1 intake rocker arm.
- Slowly apply pressure until lifter is completely bottomed. Check clearance between rocker arm and valve stem tip. If not within specifications, replace components as necessary. See COLLAPSED LIFTER CLEARANCE table.
- With engine at TDC, check clearance on No. 1 intake, No. 1 exhaust, No. 2 intake and No. 3 exhaust. Rotate crankshaft 180 degrees and check clearance on No. 2 exhaust, No. 3 intake, No. 4 intake and No. 4 exhaust.
