Temperature Gauge Calibration (Thunderbird/Cougar)

  1. Insert Instrument Gauge Tester, Rotunda 021-00055 or equivalent in sender circuit. Disconnect connector at sender and connector tester to cluster side of connector. Set tester to LOW (73 ohms). If gauge reads C, go to step 2). If pointer does not move, then go to step 3).
  2. Set tester to HIGH (10 ohms). If gauge reads H, then REPLACE sender. If gauge does not read H, then go to step 3).
  3. Check sender circuit wiring for shorts or open w/ohmmeter, using Rotunda Digital Volt/Ohm Meter 014-00407, or equivalent. If Ok, REPLACE gauge. If not Ok, SERVICE wiring.
