Removal (Turbo)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and oxygen sensor connector. Drain cooling system. Disconnect hoses from air inlet and compressor housing of turbo.
  2. Remove manifold heat shields. Disconnect oil feed and return lines, and coolant lines from turbo. Remove EGR tube from exhaust manifold. Disconnect electrical connections and air tube from turbo boost control solenoid valve. See Fig 1.

  3. Remove mounting bracket from lower side of turbo. Discharge A/C system and remove line from A/C compressor (if necessary). Disconnect oxygen sensor. Disconnect catalytic converter pipe from turbo joint pipe.
  4. Remove exhaust pipe from joint pipe attached to turbo housing. Remove exhaust manifold bolts, exhaust manifold with turbo and gaskets. Remove turbo from exhaust manifold.
