Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Remove intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD  in this article. Remove exhaust manifold. See EXHAUST MANIFOLD  in this article.
  2. Remove timing belt. See TIMING BELT & SPROCKETS  in this article. Remove valve cover. Place reference mark on distributor and remove distributor.
  3. Remove engine lifting hooks and engine ground strap. Remove necessary coolant hoses. Disconnect electrical connections at thermostat housing. Remove cylinder head bolts, cylinder head and gasket.
