Reassembly & Installation

  1. Coat components with engine oil. Install lash adjuster (if removed) using new "O" ring. Install components in original location. Intake side shaft contains twice as many oil holes as the exhaust side. Different type stepped ends are used on the rear of the shafts. See Fig 1.
  2. Ensure all camshaft bearing caps are installed with arrow pointing toward front of engine. If camshaft bearing caps were removed, ensure silicone sealant is applied in proper areas. Refer to Figure. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten rocker arm bolts evenly to specification starting from the center and working outward.
