Disc Brake Caliper - Rear (Mark VII): Inspection

  1. Clean all metal parts with isopropyl alcohol and dry with compressed air. If adjuster can is loose in piston, appears high, damaged or if brake adjustment too tight, too loose or non- functioning, replace piston/adjuster assembly.
  2. Check adjuster operation. Install thrust screw into adjuster. Pull the 2 pieces apart by hand approximately 1/4" and then release. See Fig 1 . If action is not as shown, replace piston assembly.
