Disc Brakes - Front

Front disc brakes use a slider-type caliper with a composite rotor. The caliper uses a single piston with a piston seal and dust boot. Caliper is mounted to steering knuckle with 2 locating pins. Rubber insulators isolate the pins from direct contact with caliper.

Caliper assemblies and outer brake pads are NOT interchangeable from left to right side. Inner brake pads are NOT interchangeable from left to right side on Grand Marquis, LTD Crown Victoria, Mark VII, Mustang and Town Car. Inner brake pads may be interchanged from left to right side on all other models.
