Rear Axle Bearings: Tracer

Tighten wheel bearing nut to 18-22 ft. lbs. (24-30 N.m). Rotate wheel a few times. Loosen nut. Slightly tighten wheel bearing nut. Attach an INCH lbs. torque wrench to lug nut, at 12 o'clock position. Measure starting bearing preload. Tighten nut until starting preload, including oil seal, is 3.5-6.5 INCH lbs. (.40-.74 N.m). Stake lock nut.
