Front Parking Brake Cable (AEROSTAR): Installation
- Feed cable through holes in both crossmembers. Push retainers through holes so fingers expand over each hole. Route cable around control assembly pulley and insert cable anchor pin in pivot hole in ratchet plate. If not already equipped, install Front Cable Return Spring (Ford Part No. E89Z-2A651-A) between equalizer and crossmember. See Fig 1 . Connect equalizer to front and rear cables. Remove lock pins from control assembly to apply cable tension.
- Position cover on reinforcement bracket. Install and tighten bolts after visually checking to be sure front cable is attached to control.
- Position boot over control. Install and tighten screws. Apply and release control several times. Make sure parking brakes are applied, and released and not dragging.
