Engine Front Cover: Removal

  1. Drain cooling system and crankcase. Remove fan shroud and position over fan. Remove A/C idler pulley and bracket (if equipped). Remove all hoses and brackets attached to water pump.
  2. Remove grille on E150/E350 models. Remove radiator and all drive belts, fan, spacer, pulley and shroud. Remove crankshaft pulley and vibration damper.
  3. Remove oil pan-to-front cover bolts. Remove front cover and water pump as an assembly. Cut oil pan gasket flush with cylinder block.
