Temp/Oil Gauge Inaccurate

  1. Connect Instrument Gauge System Tester (Rotunda 021-00038) in fuel gauge sending unit circuit. Disconnect connector at sending unit and connect tester to cluster side of connector. Set tester to "LOW" (73 ohms). If gauge reads "C" or "L", go to next step. If pointer does not move, go to step 3).
  2. Set tester to "HIGH" (10 ohms). If gauge reads "H", replace sending unit. If pointer does not read "H", go to next step.
  3. Check temp/oil sending unit circuit wiring for shorts or opens with ohmmeter. If circuit is okay, replace gauge. If not, repair circuit wiring as required.
