Oil Pressure Gauge Calibration Test
- Test equipment consists of 22-ohm and 73-ohm resistors. Perform test in vehicle with ignition on. Disconnect lead of sensing unit and connect 22-ohm resistor between lead and ground. Gauge should read at mid-scale.
- Connect 73-ohm resistor between lead and ground. Gauge should read low. If gauge pointer does not move and stays below low mark, check for open circuit in wiring or printed circuit.
- If gauge pointer moves without any resistor connected, check for short in sending unit lead. If gauge reads out of calibration, replace IVR and retest. If gauge is still incorrect, replace gauge.
