Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

Connect ohmmeter lead to ground terminal or housing, and other lead to resistance terminal. With float at empty position (empty fuel tank), ohmmeter should read 60-86 ohms (15-22 ohms for Sable and Taurus).
With float at full position (full fuel tank), resistance should be 8-12 ohms. Resistance change should be smooth as float is moved. If readings are incorrect or resistance change readings jump erratically, replace sending unit.
