Charge Indicator

When ignition is turned on, the battery current flows through charge indicator light, 500-ohm resistor, and through voltage regulator. Indicator light comes on.

Charge indicator light will remain on until engine is started and alternator builds up enough voltage to energize circuit in voltage regulator, at which time light goes out.
