Temperature Gauge

  1. Disconnect connector from temperature sender and connect to Gauge Tester (Rotunda 021-00038). Attach other tester lead to ground on vehicle. Turn ignition to "ACC" position. Turn tester switch to "IVR CHECK" position. A flashing light indicates IVR and wiring are functional.
  2. Place tester switch in either "HIGH" or "LOW" position. Center line of pointer should be within "H" or "C" (White temperature level) test band. If okay, indicating system is operating properly and sending unit requires replacement. If center line is outside White band, replace IVR and retest. If outside upper White band, replace gauge and retest.
NOTE: If system still does not operate properly, check coolant, thermostat and fan belt tension.
