Raise vehicle and install safety stands. Remove automatic or manual hub lock assembly as outlined in LOCKING HUBS in this article. Use Front Wheel Bearing Spanner (T86T-1197-A) and torque wrench to tighten adjusting nut to 70 ft. lbs. (95 N.m) while rotating wheel back and forth to seat bearing.
NOTE:
When specified torque is reached, adjusting nut will no longer tighten. The threaded nut portion will ratchet in the assembly upon approaching specified torque. Continue tightening until the specified torque is obtained.
