Oil Pressure Indicator
The lamp is connected between the oil pressure sensing unit and the coil terminal of the ignition switch. Light should come on when ignition switch is turned to the "RUN" position. Indicator lamp should go out within a few seconds after engine starts, indicating that oil pressure is at prescribed pressure.
NOTE:
On some models, one indicator lamp serves both the oil pressure switch and temperature switch. These combined systems are identified by "ENGINE" on the warning lamp.
