Low Oil Level Indicator
With oil at "Full" mark on dipstick, start engine. Warning lamp should come on briefly for bulb prove out and then go out. Turn engine "OFF." Drain 2 quarts of oil from engine. Restart engine. Warning lamp should come on and stay on.
To test sensor only, connect the positive lead of an ohmmeter to sensor terminal and negative lead to engine ground. With sensor submerged (engine full), meter should read "open" circuit. With sensor out of oil (oil drained), meter should read less than 5000 ohms. Engine oil must be hot to ensure that oil drains from sensor.
