Piston & Rod Assembly: Installation

  1. Install bearings in rods and rod caps. Ensure that ring gaps are properly spaced on piston. See Fig 1 . Install ring compressor on piston and install pistons into block.

  2. Raise vehicle on hoist. Guide piston rods over rod journals. Install rod caps and tighten nuts. Reverse removal procedure to complete reassembly of remaining components.
