Oil Pump: Disassembly

  1. Remove 2 bolts attaching oil pick-up tube to oil pump. Remove pick-up tube and gasket. Remove pump cover attaching screw and remove cover.
  2. Remove inner rotor and shaft assembly. Remove outer race. Drill a small hole in pressure relief valve chamber cap. See Fig 1 .
  3. Insert a small screw into cap and remove from pump housing. Remove pressure relief valve spring and plunger from pump housing.
