Removal (3.03 3-Speed - "E" Series)
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove lower extension housing-to-transmission bolt to drain lubricant. Disconnect drive shaft from flange at transmission and wire out of way. DO NOT allow shaft to hang free as damage to universal joint may result.
- Disconnect speedometer cable and shift control rods from transmission shift levers. Place jack under transmission and secure transmission to jack with safety chain.
- Raise transmission slightly and remove 4 bolts retaining transmission extension housing to insulator and retainer assembly. Remove transmission-to-clutch housing bolts. Install engine support bar on frame, under engine, and lower transmission out of vehicle.
