Hot (Slow) Idle Rpm
CAUTION:
Do not idle engine for over 3 minutes at a time. If idle adjustment is not completed within 3 minutes, run engine at 2200-2800 RPM for 30 seconds before continuing. Repeat as required.
- Place transmission in Neutral (man. trans.) or "P" (auto. trans.). Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn A/C off.
- Check curb idle RPM with transmission in Neutral (man. trans.) or "D" (auto. trans.). To adjust, turn hex head adjustment screw on rear of throttle solenoid positioner (TSP). Accelerate engine and recheck idle RPM.
- Check TSP-Off RPM with all transmissions in Neutral. If adjustment is required, remove seal from TSP-Off adjusting screw. See Fig 1. Manually collapse TSP by pushing on throttle shaft lever until TSP adjusting screw contacts carburetor body. Adjust TSP-Off RPM.
