Intake Manifold: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect throttle cable from engine. Drain cooling system.
- Remove water hose from water outlet to radiator. Remove water hose from intake manifold to thermostat housing rear cover.
- Remove distributor cap and spark plug wires as an assembly. Disconnect vacuum hose and wiring harness from distributor.
- Observe and mark position of rotor and distributor housing for reassembly reference. Remove distributor hold down bolt and distributor.
- Remove valve covers. Remove fuel line and fuel filter. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts and nut.
- Lightly tap intake manifold with a plastic mallet to break gasket seal. Lift intake manifold from engine.
