Lock Cylinder: Installation

  1. Lubricate the cylinder cavity with Ford Lock Cylinder Lubricant. Turn the lock cylinder to the "RUN" position. Depress the retaining pin and insert it into the lock cylinder housing.
  2. Make sure the cylinder is fully seated and aligned into the interlocking washer before turning the key to the "OFF" position. Use the key to rotate the cylinder to ensure correct mechanical operation in all positions.
  3. Install with lock cylinder and switch in "LOCK" position, and engage actuator rod in switch. Position switch on column and install retaining nuts, but do not tighten. Move switch up and down along column to locate mid-position of rod lash, and then tighten nuts.

Turn lock cylinder to "ON" position. Depress retaining pin and insert cylinder into housing. Make sure that cylinder is fully seated and aligned with interlocking washer. Turn key, and check operation of lock cylinder.
