ROOF COURTESY LIGHTS
- The front roof light includes two spot lamps with dedicated control buttons: the buttons can be used to turn on the corresponding light directly or in a timed manner following door opening/closing, as described below.
- The rear courtesy light includes a lamp and a control button. This light can be switched on directly by pressing the lens or in a timed manner, as described below.
- The courtesy light operation is timed according to a logic managed by the Body Control Module (BCM):
- at the door unlocking command, all the lights are switched on and a 10 second timer is activated;
- when any of the doors is opened, the lights switch on for 3 minutes; the timer is reactivated whenever the door is opened;
- when all the doors are closed, the lights stay on for a further 10 seconds with key off.
- This time is interrupted if the key is moved to the key on position: in this case, the courtesy lights are turned off immediately.
- when all the doors are closed at key-on the lights are immediately switched off;
- when the key is extracted (or within 2 minutes of the engine being switched off) the lights switch on and there is a timed delay of 10 seconds;
- on the "door lock" command (either with remote control or with key on driver side door), all lights switch off.
- The power supply for all the courtesy lights follows the battery voltage control logic (SBMT): with the key on STOP, when any door or the boot is opened, a time of 15 seconds is set. After this, all the courtesy lights are deactivated.
- If one or more doors are open, this is shown on the instrument panel display; the warning light remains on until all the vehicle doors and boot lid are properly shut. If a given speed limit is exceeded, this is also signalled by means of a buzzer.
- The BCM receives "door open" input signals from all doors.
- The front roof light is supplied by the SBMT line from the BCM via a timed/dimmed analogue control signal.
- The BCM receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line protected by maxi fuse in the engine compartment junction unit.
- The BCM receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT). This signal is used, amongst other things, to "wake up the network".
- The BCM is connected via the CAN line to instrument panel, to which it sends a signal that switches on the "door open" warning light, where necessary, and activates the buzzer to give an acoustic signal.
GLOVE COMPARTMENT - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT - SUN VISOR COURTETY LIGHTS
- A light is present in the luggage compartment; it is located in the left side and it comes on automatically when the luggage compartment is opened and switches off when it is closed.
- The two lights located under the two sun visors come on when the corresponding lid is opened.
- A light is present in the glove compartment; it comes on automatically when the glove compartment is opened and switches off when it is closed.
- The power supply for all the inner lights follows the battery voltage control logic (SBMT): with the key on STOP position, when any door or the luggage compartment are opened, a timed period of 15 minutes is set; all the lights are deactivated after this delay period.
- Via the SBMT line, the BCM supplies power to the luggage compartment light, sun visor lights and the glove compartment light.
- The BCM receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line protected by maxi fuse in the engine compartment junction unit.
- The BCM receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT). This signal is used, amongst other things, to "wake up the network". The "ignition-operating excluding starting" signal is also received to the BCM from the ignition.
- The BCM is connected via the CAN line to instrument panel, to which it sends a signal that switches on the "door open" warning light, where necessary, and activates the buzzer to give an acoustic signal.
- The luggage compartment opening switch located in the lock sends an ground signal at the same time it switches on the roof light.
- The sun visor lights are switched on by a ground signal from the switch on the light cover.
- The glove compartment light is switched on by a signal from the switch, connected in series and located on the glove compartment hinge.
- The BCM is connected via the CAN line to instrument panel, to which it sends a signal that switches on the "liftgate open" warning light, where necessary, and activates the buzzer to give an acoustic signal.
PUDDLE COURTESY LIGHTS
- There are lights for lighting up the ground ("puddle lights") in the two front doors.
- The lights switch on when the door is opened, irrespective of the position of the ignition switch, and switch off when the door is closed.
- The power supply for all the courtesy lights follows the battery voltage control logic (SBMT): with the key on STOP, when any door or the liftgate is opened, a time of 15 seconds is set. After this, all the courtesy lights are deactivated.
- If one or more doors are open, this is shown on the instrument panel display; the warning light remains on until all the vehicle doors and tailgate lid are properly shut. If a given speed limit is exceeded, this is also signalled by means of a buzzer.
- The BCM receives the "door open" input signals.
- The front puddle lights are supplied power by the BCM.
- The BCM receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line protected by maxi fuse in the engine compartment junction unit.
- The BCM receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT). This signal is used, amongst other things, to "wake up the network". The "ignition-operating excluding starting" signal is also received to the BCM from the ignition.
INTERIOR CONTROL LIGHTS
- The vehicle is equipped with numerous light sources for optimum lighting of interior instruments and controls. Two rollers integrated in the light switch can be used to adjust brightness in two ways: one (IP DIMMING) adjusts lighting of the instruments and serigraphy of the controls; the other (AMBIENT DIMMING) adjusts intensity of the "ambient" lights (roof light, door lights, cup holder light).
- The lighting logic of the electric window controls (called "comfort enable") is different and specific:
- the electric window function operates only with the ignition on, with the following exception: after a key-off, the windows can be operated for 3 minutes; when this time period elapses, the system no longer acquires new commands.
- if one of the doors is opened during the timed period, new commands are no longer acquired, but any commands received before the opening of the door are brought to a conclusion.
- if one of the doors is already open at key off, any commands received before the opening of the door are brought to a conclusion.
- The BCM receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line protected by maxi fuse in the engine compartment junction unit.
- The BCM receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT). This signal is used, amongst other things, to "wake up the network". The "ignition-operating excluding starting" signal is also received to the BCM from the ignition.
- An ignition-operated power supply line (INT), protected from a fuse located in the BCM, lights the two adjustment rollers of the switch, which send the signals IP DIMMING and AMBIENT DIMMING.
- The "AMBIENT DIMMING" signal is re-sent to:
- the front courtesy light
- the lights on the handles of the front doors;
- dashboard lighting
- the cup holder compartment lighting element.
- The "IP DIMMING" signal is re-sent to:
- switch lighting
- central dashboard
- cigar lighter lighting
- controls on the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port.
- dome light
- sun roof control panel
- electronic brake controls
- The lighting LEDs of the control unit on the front and rear doors receive power supply according to the "comfort enable" electric window logic.
- The controls on the dashboard and drive control are lighted when "ignition-operated".
