Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Amplifier DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read Amplifier DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- SUBWOOFER ELECTRICAL CONNECTION CHECK
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Subwoofer and Amplifier harness connectors.
- Check for the presence of loose or damaged connections at the Subwoofer and Amplifier harness connectors.
Were there signs of any of the connections being loose or damaged?
Yes
- Restore the correct connections.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE SUBWOOFER 1 CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Measure the resistance of the Subwoofer 1 circuit between the Subwoofer harness connector and the Amplifier harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the Subwoofer 1 circuit(s) for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the Subwoofer 1 circuit between the Subwoofer harness connector and the Amplifier harness connector.
- CHECK THE SUBWOOFER OPERATION
- Check that the Subwoofer is working correctly.
Is the Subwoofer working correctly?
Yes
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Subwoofer in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SPEAKER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check that the Subwoofer is working correctly.
