Lever, Parking Brake: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Block the tire and wheel assemblies so the vehicle does not move once the vehicle parking brake lever is released.
  3. Remove the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL .
  4. Loosen the adjusting nut (1) on the equalizer and disconnect the park brake cables (2) from the equalizer.
  5. Disconnect the parking brake switch wire harness connector and disengage the wire harness retainer.
  6. Remove the parking brake lever bolts (5a).
  7. Remove the parking brake lever (5b).
