Fascia, Rear: Removal

WARNING:

On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury. Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .

NOTE:

View exploded for clarity.

  1. On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system. Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .
  2. Disconnect the negative 12-volt battery cable.
  3. Remove the rear splash shield on both sides of the vehicle.
  4. Remove the outboard fastener (2) on both sides securing the rear fascia (1) to the vehicle.
  5. Remove the fasteners (3) located under the middle underside of the fascia (1).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the taillamps. Refer to LAMP, TAIL STOP TURN, REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the fastener (1) on both sides securing the top of the rear fascia (2) to the vehicle.
  9. Pull out on the fascia sides to disengage the rear fascia retaining tabs.
  10. Disconnect the park assist sensor wiring harness connector, if so equipped.
  11. Remove the rear fascia (2).
