Module, Onboard Charging (OBCM): Description

The OBCM is responsible for monitoring and controlling the plug-in power supply to charge the HVBS. The OBCM assembly incorporates four inverter assemblies containing voltage rectifiers to convert AC to DC voltage. The OBCM contains three charger assemblies with transformers to boost the input voltage to 400 volts for proper HVBS charging. These components are packaged together as an assembly and are located in the under-hood area above the eMotor. The unit has coolant circulated through it.
