Diagnostic Test
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE NOTE:
This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
- Perform any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that may apply.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from off to on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active at this time?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- (B237) PEDAL TRAVEL SENSOR FEED CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
- Disconnect the Regenerative Brake Controller (RBC) harness connector.
- Disconnect the Brake Pedal Travel Sensor harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage of the (B237) Pedal Travel Sensor Feed circuit at the XX harness connector.
Is the voltage above 5 volts?
Yes
- Repair the (B237) Pedal Travel Sensor Feed circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the RBC VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RBC VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- (B237) PEDAL TRAVEL SENSOR FEED CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Measure the resistance between the (B237) Pedal Travel Sensor Feed circuit and ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (B237) Pedal Travel Sensor Feed circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the RBC VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RBC VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- (B237) PEDAL TRAVEL SENSOR FEED CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
- Measure the resistance of the (B237) Pedal Travel Sensor Feed circuit between the harness connector and the XX harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Repair the (B237) Pedal Travel Sensor Feed circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the RBC VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RBC VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (B237) Pedal Travel Sensor Feed circuit between the harness connector and the XX harness connector.
- REGENERATIVE BRAKE CONTROLLER (RBC)
- Replace the Brake Pedal Travel Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, BRAKE OPERATING, REMOVAL .
- Perform the RBC VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RBC VERIFICATION TEST .
- Test drive the vehicle between 15 and 35 km/h (9 and 22 mph).
- With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the DTC remain active?
Yes
- Replace and Program the Regenerative Brake Controller (RBC) in accordance with service information. Refer to CONTROLLER, REGENERATIVE BRAKE (RBC), REMOVAL .
No
- Test complete.
