Diagnostic Test

- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS diagnostic procedure. Refer to STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS .
- CHECK FOR RELATED DTCS
- Refer to the saved information recorded on the repair order.
- Check for any of the following active DTCs:
- BCM configuration DTCs.
- CAN B Bus hardware electrical DTCs
- VIN Missing or VIN Mismatch DTCs
- Battery or ignition related DTCs
Were DTCs set related to the conditions listed above?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to DTC INDEX (ELECTRIC) .
No
- Go To 3
- VERIFY THAT THE CONVERGENCE TELEMATICS MODULE (CTM) IS ACTIVE ON THE BUS
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, verify the CTM is active on the bus.
Is the CTM active on the bus?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Perform the NO RESPONSE FROM CTM diagnostic procedure. Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM CTM (CONVERGENCE TELEMATICS MODULE) .
- CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCS
- Refer to the saved information recorded on the repair order.
Are there any other modules reporting CTM related communication DTCs?
Yes
- Replace/update the CTM in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- Refer to the saved information recorded on the repair order.
- ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, select the module setting the DTC against the CTM.
- With the scan tool, erase active DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is this DTC still active?
Yes
- Replace/update the module that set this DTC in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the appropriate verification test for the module being replaced. If there is no verification test for the associated module perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
